Hello again everyone from Sunny Florida!
By now you should have received your invitation in the mail, and I am so sorry about taking so long to send them out. Our RSVP Deadline was completely unreasonable (especially considering we have had the invitations since October...) but not to worry. The hotel only asks that we have the total head count and meal selections within 2 weeks, we just want to be able to plan all the fun stuff ahead of time.
Since the first post a lot has happened here. Devin was in a car accident, and he walked away without a scratch. His pretty Mustang, however, did not. On top of that, within three hours of the accident, while we were doing the responsible thing and getting our laptops so we could work, my car died as well. If I never see another tow truck again...later in the evening, when Emily came home from school she had a fever, 2 dead cars and a sick kid. Not a very good day. We are still kind of reeling over it, as well, but moving on regardless. I have been given leave to work from home for the rest of the year, my car has been repaired, Emily has been to the doctors and we will hopefully find out the Mustang's fate sooner rather than later.
Emily went to MI to meet her new twin brothers, Sam and Jack, who she said were "Cool" and Devin and I managed to get some alone time. Emily has been doing a bang-up job in school, though she did quit her violin lessons.
And now, we focus on the next best thing to come, CHRISTMAS!!! We won't be doing a lot of gifts to each other, but have put a lot of focus on making sure Emily has a wonderful day with lots of presents to open. We have already hung our tree, made cookies and even started a Christmas puzzle (Thanks Sherri!).
That's about all I have for you now. I have to walk up to the school to get the little girl, so, until next time, have a great day!!!

Welcome to the journey!
Here we are, the time is near! Devin and I are getting married! It's going to be spectacular! We have the menu chosen, you can have your choice of filet mingnon, mahi mahi imperial or chicken cordon bleu. There will be plenty of music, we have nannies lined up, and rumor has it they are even going to let us bring our dart board!
The venue for the wedding is stunning, and they know how to throw a party! The Grand Plaza Hotel and Resort hosts over 500 weddings per year. All the brides and grooms walk away happy and with good reason. Check out their website at http://www.grandplazaflorida.com/ and see for yourself.
We already have a photographer and I have been feverishly working on crocheting about a billion flowers to save those of us with allergies the trouble. Plus, since the wedding is going to be on April 26th at St. Pete Beach, all you snowbirds can enjoy a mild Florida spring evening.
Our Coordinator, Gloria, said you guys can stay at this place for 169 per night at the group rate. She said you can probably get a room even cheaper than that via travelocity.com as long as you don't mind having no windows. There are a whole bunch of other hotels within walking distance, so you really have your choice. Everything from Hojo's to the upscale resorts. Feel like taking a cruise? Great news! Tampa has the largest port on the west coast of Florida with cruises to the bahama's, the carribean, Mexico and more! Want to take in a ball game, we have the Rays stadium in St. Pete. Want to ride a roller coaster? Why not hit up Busch Gardens in Tampa, or take the hour and a half drive out to Orlando! Interested in the nightlife? You won't be left wanting for that in the area either with places like historic Ybor (pronounced EEEEEBOR) or Soho in Tampa.
As for getting here, you have choices there as well. You can fly into Tampa International Airport where Jetblue and Airtran (as well as Southwest, United, American and many others fly into), or you can fly into the smaller regional St. Pete airport. Orlando, again only about an hour and a half away, also has Spirit Airlines ($20 plane tickets is the rumor, and they fly out of Boston...). You'll have your choice of taxi's and shuttles, but we are going to call around to see if we can get an agreement on a discounted rate if all of our people use one company.
We have a lot of work to do (and a lot of money to save) over the next 6 months, but it will all be worth it to see all of you there! Keep checking back for more updates. As I see fare sales and hotel specials I will let all of you know so that you won't have the stress of money on your heads to come!
